Default Sonic X isn't as terrible as I remembered.

Even the English version isn't so bad I realized. It only started getting really lame when the 'Meterex" arrived. I know I spelled it wrong. I'm too lazy to check how it's spelled.
For some odd reason I saw Sonic X being played on FOX, and recorded it on my DVR. So later I watched it-- and found myself enjoying it. It was one of the earlier episodes, when Christopher's mother promised a party and bailed on him last minute. Also I watched the episode when Knuckles challenged Sonic to battle, because he was tricked.
You know, it actually stays true to everyone's character. Knuckles clearly shows his aggressive rivalry with Sonic, Sonic has his "attitude", while keeping a sensitive side, ect.
I'll admit though, Eggman's character isn't so accurate. Eh.

I didn't even mind Cream. I actually liked her personality, and really felt for her.
As for Chris. He isn't that bad. He's just a kid, and acts like one. Don't really love or hate him.

Heck, the VOICES aren't that terrible either. What's happening?? Has my brain been switched?? That I think the voices, one of the biggest "issues" among fans, aren't as bad as everyone makes them to be?? That the actors may have a SHRED of talent?? GASP!

I'm not INLOVE with it, but I'm really liking it.

I think all Sonic X "haters" (as I was once one.) should give the show a second chance and watch it with an open mind. Also it may not be as "dark" or "serious" as you may like, but it's a pleasant show.
Anyway, I'm going to continue watching, both Japanese and English versions.

So I just wanted to see what others think about the show-- Even what the haters think.
I just don't know why I was so against it in the first place. It can be corny sometimes, but it isn't something to be loathed.

Sonic X was never terrible in the first place. It has always been my belief that some breed of fans were deliberately looking for reasons to dislike it because Sonic X was set in a continuity that differs from what some fans were expecting. Since you disliked it when it came out, only you would know for sure. Maybe it's easier to accept Sonic X now as it is based on the contempory Sonic series?

Eps01-52 have a very adventurous spirit to them. The concept of the human world allows the characters to behave as themselves, e.g. Sonic has places to run, Tails can invent, Knuckles can be isolated etc. Therefore, these first 52 episodes are very true to the games prior to Shadow the Hedgehog (the adventous, comical and sometimes non-violent era.) Sonic X at its absolute finest I think is Ep26. It combines humour, action and character development in perfect balance, and just has that "Sonic feeling."

Come Metarex season, it's set on a ship. The confines of the ship prevent characters from behaving like themselves, e.g. Sonic can't run, Knuckles works as part of a team etc. The characters therefore seem much different from the previous season; it's almost like you're watching a different show. Furthermore, the character personalities in this season seem to have been grafted on from Shadow the Hedgehog and onwards (serious plotlines, less adventure, more violence.) I agree with you; I'm not too fond of the Metarex season. The fact that it is set in space completely undermines the previous season. Keep in mind, Eps53-78 are not part of Sonic X, but rather an extension of it. In other words, the Metarex Season is just an add-on that does not flow with the rest of the series.

With regards to the 4Kids dub, the only thing going against it is the amount of cuts. If you add up the amount of deleted SCENES, it totals up to about 2 episodes worth. Nonetheless, I do commend the dub for the voices, as well as the music. Whilst not as orchestral as the Japanese version, 4Kids is extremely consistent in its music selection... every object, character and event has its own mini-theme. See if you can identify them.

I wouldn't say there is anything wrong with liking the show. Give into it... Too many people have claimed to dislike it because they were trying too hard not to like it.

I really liked Sonic X, it was my inspiration to draw back in 2005.

It's unfortunate that the Sonic X style of drawing is a dying art now. I haven't seen a new Sonic X styled picture on DA for months. I wonder if it's a sign that means the Sonic X fanbase is withering away... It used to be a proud a strong base back in 2003-2005.

I love Sonic X,the ending was sad kinda,Cosmo was killed and poor little Tails, having to lose the his first true love,i had a tear in my eye especially when her ghost is in front of him and she kisses him,but she fades away because it was her ghost.
Very sad!
Chris may not ever be able to see his talking animal friends ever again and Shadow's gone, they wasn't clear of where he went.
I wish they would have another season but that probably won't happen. It was a great show,it's still my favorite.

Sad sometimes but the best show you will ever watch!

After watching all 78 episodes oo 4kids, I must say, this is an alright show. Seasons 1 & 2 actually felt like a Sonic show with human secondary characters instead of anthros like in the earlier Sonic cartoons. The Metarex Season, on the other hand, felt more like Battlestar Galactica WITH ANIMALS than a Sonic show. Though I still like Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog more, this is a close second on my list of favorite Sonic cartoons.

I remember when it first came out I didn't mind it, then for some reason I started bashing it. I kept looking for flaws I guess, I believe I've matured over the years. Everything has flaws, and you can still enjoy the things that do. Also I'm no longer as much as a Sega purist as I once was. While still I prefer Sega's stories (well, Sega's older stories.) to most spin offs, I can still enjoy them.

(Even though I'm still not an Archie fan, no matter how much I try to look at them with an open mind. No offense.)

I've watched enough of both already, it's not a very good show. And the characters being true to their personalities isn't really enough to amend for all the lackluster writing and music in both versions and the mediocre animation.

When it first started I was excited, and even though the first episode wasn't what I expected I decided to embrace the rest of the series with open arms, but I wound up being even further disappointed.
